In the early sixties vaporization technique was discovered. It is a process that heats herb to the point where the active constituents are released but nothing is burned. The user of a vaporizer is benefited as active constituents delivered in vaporization are much more than combustion. Because vaporization takes place at much lower temperatures than combustion, so many constituents are saved and harmful gases are not produced. Many of the herbs and plant material are highly combustible, and many of the delicate resin-producing glandular trachoma’s are destroyed when smoked. There is no smoke due to the low temperatures used, and lack of a flame in vaporizers. The healthiest vaporizers have a maximum temperature of 300 degrees Celsius. The best vaporization of most herbs is between 140 degrees Celsius up to approx 300 degrees Celsius. Vaporization temperature range is 110 degrees Celsius to 300 degrees Celsius. Different temperatures give different effects and taste. Tobacco vaporizes between 140 degrees Celsius up to approx 200 degrees Celsius.

Mankind is searching for a healthier way than smoking to ingest favorite herbs for some time now, and it was found that cooking them is an excellent way to ingest them without smoking, however the effects are different and much longer lasting, in addition it is much harder to control the dose. More search lead to discovery of the new generation remote heating and hot air convection vaporizers. We can see three main types of vaporizers. First generation vaporizers use heating element that contacts the herbs directly and heats them to coerce them into releasing their essential elements. And the second generation vaporizers that we are seeing now do not heat the herbs directly; they fall into two categories; remote heating and hot air convection. Remote heating element, metal or ceramic, are used in remote heating vaporizers and heat the herbs without touching them to coerce them into releasing their essential elements. Herbs are not directly heated but hot air that is then drawn over the herbs to coerce them into releasing their essential elements. Few factors are important in any device that facilitates ingestion of herbs. Though it may be an acquired taste, flavor of good quality herbs is one of the most enjoyable parts of the experience. Rating efficiency pertains to how well the vaporizer extracts the essential elements of an herb without waste. Wait time pertains to the wait time involved between deciding you want to ingest some herbs and completing the ingestion. Vapor smoke ratio pertains to how well the vaporizer produces only vapor instead of smoke which we are trying to avoid. Session ability pertains to how well you can use this vaporizer with a group of friends that is how easy is it to reload and prepare for the next person.
